NULLSPARK

FAQ

The questions people actually ask, answered straight.

Is it safe?

Here's what it does, so you can judge. It downloads Minecraft from Mojang, Fabric from Fabric's servers, Java from Mojang (or the copy built in), and mods from Modrinth, and checks each file against the checksum those sites publish. It signs you in on Microsoft's own page and never sees your password. It doesn't run anything in the background when it's closed.

Windows will warn you the first time because the installer isn't code-signed yet. You can compare the file's SHA-256 with the one on the download page before running it.

Do I need to own Minecraft?

Yes. You sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. There's no offline or "cracked" mode, and there won't be.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no paid tier, no account to make.

Will I get banned on servers?

Not for using NULLSPARK. It has no cheats, and the pre-installed mods (Sodium, Lithium, Iris, Zoomify and the others) are performance and quality-of-life mods that normal servers allow.

Servers can still ban specific mods, and that's on whatever you install yourself. If a server lists banned mods, check your profile against it. Zoom is the one that some competitive servers don't like.

Where do mods come from?

All from Modrinth, through its public API. NULLSPARK downloads the exact file Modrinth lists and checks its SHA-1. Any .jar you drop into a profile's mods folder yourself is loaded too, and never touched.

Why can't I sign in?

If it says "Mojang hasn't approved NULLSPARK yet": every new launcher has to be approved by Mojang before Microsoft sign-in can reach Minecraft. That's pending. It'll start working without you updating anything.

Other messages mean what they say: the account doesn't own Minecraft, or it's a child account that needs an adult to allow Xbox sign-in in the Microsoft family settings.

Does it work on Mac, Linux or Bedrock?

Windows only for now. It's a Java Edition launcher, so it doesn't run Bedrock. There is a separate Bedrock resource pack in the same style, which only changes how Bedrock's menu looks.

Where are my worlds?

In %APPDATA%\NULLSPARK\profiles\<profile>\saves. Uninstalling the launcher keeps them. Paste that path into File Explorer's address bar to get there.

Is this official?

No. NULLSPARK is made by one person and isn't approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
